Creative Writing Courses
Writing Poetry I - Lisa Beskin

Writing Poetry I is an introductory writing workshop. In addition to discussing one another's poems, students will read exemplary poetry of the past and present, and acquire a basic knowledge of English prosody.

Limited enrollment. Students should send a 7-10 page sample of their writing to the Creative Writing Center (Box 2235 Amherst College, Amherst, MA 01002) by Monday January 19th. A list of admitted students will be posted here, on-line, and outside of the Center (Webster 212) by the first day of classes.

Additional Information

Please put your name on every page of your writing sample. Your contact information (school, year, phone, e-mail) should go on the first page. A cover note listing any previous creative writing course(s) and describing your writing experience would be a good idea.

Failure to submit material wil reduce your chances of gaining admission to the course. If you need to know whether or not you've been admitted and you can't come to campus, call or e-mail Catherine Newman.

Contact Catherine Newman if you have questions. 542-8200 or crnewman@amherst.edu
