Registration

We are pleased to say that there will be no admission fee for ConDuct. The only requirement for admission will be signing off a written agreement to abide by the "Code of ConDuct", which will be on display at the registration table in Chapin 101.

Lodging

For those of you who will be journeying from afar to attend ConDuct, the intrepid members of the Science Fiction/Fantasy Club and Anime Club stand ready to house you on campus. Space is limited, however, so to insure that you have a place to stay you should email Nathaniel, who will confirm that you have a couch/floor/futon/rock somewhere to sleep on. If you have any special requirements you should include them in the email.

Lodging is also availble from commercial vendors such as the Lord Jeff's Inn, the UMass Campus Center Hotel, and local bed and breakfasts. More information can be found here.

Directions

Map of Amherst College (well, half of it, at least)
Official Direction to Amherst College (courtesy of the Admissions Office)

Chapin Hall is circled in red. The red X marks the Amherst College bus stop. It is very easy to get to Amherst College from the Town of Amherst: the intersection marked by a red triangle on the map is two block south of the Town Center (where Fleet, Subway, Amherst Books, etc. are located).

The PVTA Bus System can take you to either the town of Amherst or Amherst College from many areas in the Pioneer Valley. Chapin Hall is located a few hundred feet East of the Amherst College bus stop, and you can easily find your way to Chapin Hall with the Map.

If you wish to travel to Amherst by bus or train, Peter Pan Bus runs several buses into town every day, and they stop just a block north of the intersection of Rt. 166 and Rt. 9 (marked by the red trignale on the map). Amtrak's "Vermonter" also stops at Amherst (around 3 PM Northbound, 4 PM Southbound) and the train station is just a few blocks East of Chapin Hall on Rt. 9 (the red arrow on the map points towards the direction of the station). The train would be the recommended method of travel for folks in New York, Hartfort, Vermont and Montreal, as you can get to the Con right before it starts and leave right after it ends.

Driving directions: (yes these are not the quickest ways to get here, but Wing doesn't have a car, so what does he know?)
from NYC, Philadelphia, Baltimore, etc.: take I-95 North to Hartford, get on I-91 North, and get off at Exit 19 in MA onto Rt. 9 East
from Boston: take the Masspike to Springfield, and then get on I-95 North, getting off at exit 19 onto Rt. 9 East
from Buffalo, Albany, Toronto, etc.: take I-90 east to Springfield, and follow previous instructions

If you need directions from any other place, just contact us and we'll get back to you after consulting our friends and MapQuest.

Parking is available both in the town of Amherst (they just built a new garage!) and limited parking is available on Amherst College campus at the Alumni Lot.
