Subject: We're Official!

Hey everyone,

Rebecca, Erica and I went in front of the SFC Review and Recognition Committee today and presented the ideas for the Vegetarian/Vegan Interest Organization, and we just learned that they've officially approved and recognized us!

This is great news, both due to the recognition and due to the fact that we are now eligible to receive SFC money for next fall! This means that we have a few days to submit a budget for next semester, so we need your input on ideas for funding requests. Any ideas you have would be welcome!

I set this up with the computer center and they said as soon as we got recognized we could have the account set up; so now that we're official it should just be a few days. Be sure to check out the web site and its changes, and please give us your input. I'd like to have a part of the web site with the names and e-mail addresses of the members of our organization listed, so that people who might be interested can see how much support we have (currently we have over 20 students and several faculty members supporting us!). If you would not like your name/e-mail address listed for any reason, please let me know.

We're planning on doing a round of table tents sometime soon to try to get even more people to find out about us. As far as events that we might be able to do this semester (we would have to use our own sources of funding for such things), let us know if you have any ideas. Hopefully we can set up an information table up outside of Valentine at least once this semester, as well as possibly posting some educational flyers. We're also working on forming alliances with similar groups at the other 4 colleges, so if you know of any or have any friends at the other colleges interested in our cause, let us know!
