    Curricular Computing Fellowship Opportunity
    http://www.amherst.edu/it/ccs/

The Susan and Kenneth Kermes Technology Fellowship is open to any recent Amherst graduate. The nature of the position has been changed for the coming year to focus specifically on support of curricular applications, rather than general computer support as it has in the past. The Fellow will be a member of the Curricular Computing Services department and will support the use of curricular computing by faculty, students and staff. The individual will have intensive interaction with faculty, student technology consultants and colleagues in Information Technology; develop both paper- and Web-based instructional materials; and provide instruction in group and one-on-one settings about use of technology in the curriculum. The job requires genuine enthusiasm for technology thoughtfully deployed, the ability to develop technical skills and to work closely and collaboratively with others in problem-solving and curricular support. Other desirable attributes are a broad knowledge of software, hardware and networking in use at Amherst. The ability to rapidly acquire new skills and knowledge through on-the-job experience is key. The Kermes Fellow will be expected to function independently and responsibly within department guidelines and to support the work of other staff members. The successful candidate should enjoy helping people use computers and taking initiative when new challenges present themselves. Additional information about Curricular Computing Services can be found at http://www.amherst.edu/it/ccs/.

The position includes health and dental insurance and runs from June 10, 2002, through June 30, 2003. Applicants should submit a cover letter and résumé to Mary McMahon, Director, Curricular Computing Services, AC #2240.

Applications received by Mon., April 8, will be given the highest priority. If you have questions about the position, please contact Mary McMahon at ext. 8396 or e-mail mgmcmahon@amherst.edu.
