Over the 2005-06 academic year, Amherst redesigned the college's Website. Managed by the Office of Admission and the Office of Public Affairs, the homepage and Admission section were designed by Plainspoke of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The Admission section was built out by Harbour Light.
The Campus Intranet (including the announcement system, Picture of the Day, forums and Campus Directory) was built by Rob Ansaldo, Steffen Plotner and Willa Jarnagin. The forums were based on phpBB.
The Online Tour was created in 2000 by Nick Rabinowitz '00, with text by Megan Freidel '99, assisted by College Archivist Daria D'Arienzo, College Editor Douglas Wilson '62, and Curator of Special Collections John Lancaster. John Manly '85, Brandon Stone, Seth Fitzsimmons '02 and Baker Franke '02 provided technical support. Thanks to Amherst students, faculty and staff for ideas and suggestions.
