Five College Library Catalog: Catalog of all books, music, video, online resources, etc., in all Five College libraries. Use "author keywords" or "author (last name first)" for books by a writer; search the writer's name as "subject keywords" for books about the writer.
WorldCat: Search for books in a database made up of catalogs from thousands of libraries. Interlibrary Loan service can deliver books not owned by the Five College libraries.
Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture of the New York Public Library : Search one of the best collections of materials about the African diaspora. Very good collection of Caribbean materials.
University of Texas Libraries Catalog : Look for ideas and books in the catalog of Referenceone of the world's best library collections from and about Latin America.
MLA International Bibliography: Most important American index to critical studies about all literatures. References to scholarly
articles about literature, film, linguistics, and more published since
1963. Try ACLinks to find online articles

Enciclopedia universal en español : Complete Spanish language encyclopedia from Britannica and Diorki, SA. Also includes a Spanish dictionary and a Spanish-English dictionary.
Encyclopedia of Contemporary Latin American and Caribbean Cultures (Reference F 1406 E515 2000): Very brief articles on history, people, organizations, etc., from all over the Caribbean.
Oxford Encyclopedia of Latinos & Latinas in the US (Reference E 184 S75 O97 2005) and Encyclopedia Latina (Reference E 184 S75 E587 2005): Essays on people, topics, music, literature, and more. Good for quick background.
Biography Resource Center : Includes biographies of recent authors, lists of their books,
notes on reviews, interviews, etc.
Latin American Writers (Reference PQ 7081 A1 L37 1989) and Encyclopedia of Latin American Literature (Reference PQ 7081 A1 E53 1997): Useful for major writers. The Encyclopedia is more up-to-date.
Dictionaries and other help with language from the the Real Academia Española. The best choice for a large Spanish-Spanish dictionary.
