America: History & Life (1964–present) A bibliographic database covering the world's scholarly literature on the history and culture of the United States and Canada from prehistoric times to the present. Includes article abstracts from journals, and bibliographic citations of reviews and dissertations. Includes journals of the state and local historical societies.

Historical Abstracts (1954–present) A bibliographic database covering the world's scholarly literature in history, except the United States and Canada, from 1450–present. Includes article abstracts for journal articles, books, book chapters, book reviews, dissertations, and selected government publications.


ABSEES: American Bibliography of Slavic and East European Studies (1990–present)
ABSEES covers North American scholarship on East-Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, and contains bibliographic citations for journal articles, books, book chapters, book reviews, dissertations, and selected government publications.

American Periodicals Series online, 1740-1900
Digitized reproductions of more than 1,100 eighteenth and nineteenth century newspapers and periodicals from American periodical series, I, II, and III. When completed in 2003, this database will have more than 7,000,000 pages of fulltext periodicals.

AncestryLibrary
Access to more than 1.2 billion names, more than 3,000 databases, primary source documents and images and a variety of genealogical and historical research features – with new databases added daily. AncestryPlus also includes digital images of the census records from the U.S. Federal Census between the years 1790 and 1920 and Gale's Passenger & Immigration Lists Index.

Handbook of Latin American Studies
The Handbook is a bibliography on Latin America consisting of works selected and annotated by scholars. Edited by the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress, the multidisciplinary Handbook alternates annually between the social sciences and the humanities.

IBSS (International Bibliography of the Social Sciences) (1951- present)
Includes nearly two million bibliographic references to journal articles and books. Over 2,700 journals are indexed and some 7,000 books included each year. Abstracts are provided for half of all current journal articles and full text availability is increasing.

Index Islamicus Some coverage from 1906 to present.
Indexes literature on Islam, the Middle East and the Muslim world. Material cited includes not only work written about the Middle East, but also about the other main Muslim areas of Asia and Africa, plus Muslim minorities elsewhere. It is produced by the Islamic Bibliography Unit at Cambridge University Library.
