CSA Political Science Abstracts (1975–present)
This index builds on the merged backfiles of Political Science Abstracts, 1975-2000, and ABC POL SCI, 1984-2000. The database provides citations, abstracts, and indexing of the international serials literature in political science and its complementary fields. As of January 2002, approximately 1100 titles are being monitored; this list will continue to grow throughout 2002 with an emphasis on international coverage.

IBSS (International Bibliography of the Social Sciences) (1951- present)
Includes nearly two million bibliographic references to journal articles and books. Over 2,700 journals are indexed and some 7,000 books included each year. Abstracts are provided for half of all current journal articles and full text availability is increasing. Particularly strong in political science, sociology, anthropology, gender studies, law and economics.


ABSEES: American Bibliography of Slavic and East European Studies (1990–present)
ABSEES covers North American scholarship on East-Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, and contains bibliographic citations for journal articles, books, book chapters, book reviews, dissertations, and selected government publications.

Academic Search Premier
Fulltext articles from over 3,600 journals in the social sciences, arts and humanities, and sciences. Also includes about 1,000 titles that are indexed but not fulltext . Dates of journals vary, some go back to 1965, others are current issues only.

Alternative Press Index (1991-present)
Indexes nearly 290 alternative, radical and left periodicals, newspapers and magazines that report and analyze the practices and theories of cultural, economic, political and social change; via FirstSearch.

America: History & Life (1982–present)
A bibliographic database covering the world's scholarly literature on the history and culture (including political science and sociology) of the United States and Canada from prehistoric times to the present. Includes article abstracts from journals, and bibliographic citations of reviews and dis sertations.

Bibliography of Asian Studies
Indexes to articles and books in Asian Studies, including social sciences.

Columbia International Affairs Online (CIAO) (1991–present)
Columbia International Affairs Online (CIAO) is designed to be the most comprehensive source for theory and research in international affairs. It publishes a wide range of scholarship that includes working papers from university research institutes, occasional papers series from NGOs, foundation-funded research projects, and proceedings from conferences.

Index and full text to U.S. legislative information and members of congress. Produced by the Congressional Information Service; via Congressional Universe.

Contemporary Women's Issues (1992–present)
Index to global information on women. Journals, newsletters, research reports from non-profit groups, government and international agencies, along with fact sheets are easily accessed through CWI. Information on women in over 150 countries is compiled in a single collection bringing together such disciplines as sociology, psychology, health, education and human rights.

ECLAC (Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean)
The Library of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) is located at the United Nations building in Santiago, Chile. The Library was established in 1948 to provide specialized information services on the economic and social development of Latin America and the Caribbean. (This database has a bilingual interface but many more documents will be retrieved if it is searched using Spanish.)

GenderWatch (some back to 1970's–present)
GenderWatch is a full text database of publications that focus on the impact ofgender across a broad spectrum of subject areas.

GPO Access
Increasingly the Government Printing Office is making information available online. GPO Access links to many government documents including the Federal Register, Congressional Record, Congressional Bills, General Accounting Office Reports, and the U.S. Code.

GPO Monthly Catalog (1976–present)
U.S. government publications. Records on all subjects of interest to the U.S. government. Produced by U.S. Government Printing Office.

Handbook of Latin American Studies
The Handbook is a bibliography on Latin America consisting of works selected and annotated by scholars. Edited by the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress, the multidisciplinary Handbook alternates annually between the social sciences and the humanities.

HAPI (Hispanic American Periodicals Index) (1970-present)
Includes information about Central and South America, Mexico, the Caribbean, the United States-Mexico border region, and Hispanics in the United States. From analyses of current political, economic, and social issues to unique coverage of Latin American arts and letters, citations to articles, book reviews, documents, original literary works, and other materials appearing in more than 400 key social science and humanities journals published throughout the world.

Hein Online
Fulltext database of over 200 law reviews going back to the first volume of each title. Searchable by keyword, author, citation, etc.

Historical Abstracts History, including political history, for the world outside of the U.S. and Canada.

Index Islamicus Some coverage from 1906 to present.
Indexes literature on Islam, the Middle East and the Muslim world. Material cited includes not only work written about the Middle East, but also about the other main Muslim areas of Asia and Africa, plus Muslim minorities elsewhere. It is produced by the Islamic Bibliography Unit at Cambridge University Library.

Left Index (1990–present)
Provides access to the diversity of literature on the left with a primary emphasis on politics and culture, and a secondary emphasis on significant but little known sources on news and ideas. In paper only from 1982–1989.

Lexis Nexis/Academic Universe
Fulltext database, particularly strong in legal materials and newspapers.

Philosopher's Index (1940–present)

Statistical Universe
Index to over 100,000 U.S., International, and Intergovernmental statistical publications. Some are also available fulltext. (AC)

Women's Studies International (1972- present)
Covers the core disciplines in Women’s Studies and the latest scholarship in feminist research. political science & economy, public policy, and international relations. Over 2,000 periodical sources are represented.

World News Connection (1994–present)
Fulltext translation of news from around the world. Sources include newspapers, television and radio broadcasts.
