SciFinder Scholar (Chemical Abstracts)
SciFinder Scholar uses proprietary software that has been installed on all Library computers. From the Start Menu, locate SciFinder Scholar under Course-Related Programs to access the database. SFS is for use by members of the Amherst College Community only. Faculty and staff may download the software from the K: drive onto their office computers. Please contact Susan Kimball if you have any questions.
SciFinder Scholar provides access to:
- Chemical Abstract literature database of over 20 million references (CAPLUS)
- CAS substance database of over 31 million registered compounds (REGISTRY)
- Reaction database containing over 4 million chemical reactions (CASREACT)
- Regulatory chemicals database compiled from an extensive group of state, national, and international regulatory agencies (CHEMLIST)
