Amherst Named NFHCA National Academic Team, Places 11 On National Academic Squad

AMHERST, MA – The Amherst College field hockey team earned National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Team honors, which recognize collegiate programs with a combined GPA of 3.0 or higher through fall semester 2005-06. Eleven players, including senior tri-captains Katherine Skrivan (St. Louis, MO) and Molly Gilbert (Penn Valley, PA), were named to the NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad as well. Eligible student-athletes – those achieving a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale) through the fall semester 2005-06 – are nominated by coaches. Skrivan and Gilbert have both been named to the squad in each of their four years at Amherst.
