No. 21 Jeffs Fall at No. 6 Williams FROM A WILLIAMS COLLEGE RELEASE All three doubles matches ended with a score of 8-6 as Williams took the No. 1 and 3 matches to earn the doubles point. Amherst senior Jon Godsall (Toronto, ON) and sophomore Geoff Schwartz (Dallas, TX) prevailed in the No. 2 doubles match. Sophomore Michael Mintz (New York, NY) was the lone Lord Jeff to capture a singles match, defeating Jeff Kivitz at No. 3 in straight sets 6-4, 6-4. Seniors Josh Rilla (Westboro, MA) and Danny Babkes (Baltimore, MD) and rookie Zach Lerner (Scarsdale, NY) all pushed their opponents to three sets but came up short in the loss. Amherst returns to action tomorrow (Sunday) against visiting NYU and Connecticut College at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., respectively. Williams 6 – Amherst 1 DOUBLES RESULTS |
