2004 Amherst Cross Country Milestones
TEAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- Amherst's women won the season-opening Amherst Invitational and the Tufts Invitational, posted a second-place showing at the Little Three Championships and finished third at both the NESCAC and ECAC Championships. They capped the season with a fourth-place showing at the NCAA Northeast Regionals and qualified for their second consecutive and fourth NCAA Championship Meet in the last five years, finishing 12th nationally.
- Amherst's men posted a third-place finish at the season-opening Amherst Invitational and finished sixth at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational, the Tufts Invitational, the NESCAC Championships and the ECAC Championships.
INDIVIDUAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Senior Co-Captain Carter Hamill (Richmond, VA)
- Won the season-opening Amherst Invitational as well as the Tufts Invitational and the Little Three Championship Meet.
- Earned her fourth cross country and 14th overall All-America award with a fifth-place showing at the NCAA Championship Meet.
- Earned All-New England honors with a fifth-place showing at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship Meet.
- Earned First-Team All-NESCAC honors for the fourth consecutive season with a third-place showing at the NESCAC Championship Meet.
- Academic All-NESCAC.
Senior Co-Captain Ali Rodriguez (Albany, NY)
- Academic All-NESCAC.
Senior Co-Captain Matt Katz (Tallahassee, FL)
- Earned All-New England honors with a 33rd-place showing at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship Meet.

Sophomore Shauneen Garrahan (Fairfax Station, VA)
- Earned All-America honors for the second straight season with a 24th-place showing at the NCAA Championship Meet.
- Earned All-New England honors with a sixth-place showing at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship Meet.
- Earned First-Team All-NESCAC honors for the second consecutive season with a fifth-place showing at the NESCAC Championship Meet.
First-Year Kim Partee (Brentwood, TN)
- Earned All-New England honors with a 33rd-place showing at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship Meet.
- Earned NESCAC Rookie of the Year and Second-Team All-NESCAC honors with a 14th-place showing at the NESCAC Championship Meet.
First-Year Katie Moravec (Chico, CA)
- Earned All-ECAC honors with a 10th-place showing at the ECAC Championship Meet.
First-Year Laura Mortimer (Jackson, MS)
- Earned All-ECAC honors with a 14th-place showing at the ECAC Championship Meet.
First-Year Tomas Morrissey (Astoria, OR)
- Earned All-New England honors with a 17th-place showing at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship Meet.
- Earned NESCAC Rookie of the Year and Second-Team All-NESCAC honors with an 11th-place showing at the NESCAC Championship Meet.
