Amherst's Warner Named NESCAC Softball Player of the Week

AMHERST, MA – Amherst College senior co-captain Miya Warner (Berkeley, CA) was named the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Player of the Week on Monday after picking up her 10th straight victory on the mound this weekend with a win over Middlebury College.

Warner tossed her ninth complete game of the season, allowing just a pair of earned runs on five hits and two walks, while registering seven strikeouts en route to the 6-2 win. She also came on in relief in the second half of the doubleheader, hurling 1.1 innings of scoreless play.

With a 10-2 record, Warner leads the NESCAC in wins and strikeouts (95), and ranks third in ERA (1.74).

Amherst returns to action Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at non-conference opponent Westfield State College.
