Amherst's Warner Grabs Second Straight ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Award May 11, 2006 A two-time First-Team All-NESCAC honoree, Warner finished this season ranked 24th in the nation in strikeouts per seven innings (8.7). She led the NESCAC in strikeouts (156), tied for the conference lead in wins (14) and finished fifth in ERA (1.86) and opposing batting average (.200). Warner posted an 11-game win streak on the mound, lasting from March 20 – April 12, and registered double-digits in strikeouts seven times, including a season-high 13 Ks against the College of St. Catherine. She earned NESCAC Player of the Week honors for April 10, and threw her second career no-hitter in a 5-0 win at Hamilton College on April 27. Warner completed her outstanding collegiate career with 47 wins, 71 starts, 61 complete games, 18 shutouts, two no-hitters, 507.1 innings pitched and 603 strikeouts, while holding opposing batters to a .188 average. The Amherst softball team finished with an 18-12 mark this year, qualifying for the NESCAC Tournament for the first time since 2002.
