AMHERST, MA - The Amherst women's squash team broke a seven-game skid on Saturday, edging 18th-ranked Colby College, 5-4, as they improve to 4-9.

Senior co-captain Lauren Coape-Arnold (Scarsdale, NY), juniors Abby Mantica (Sewickley, PA) and Sarah Harper (Rochester, MN) and sophomores Caroline Shannon (Hanover, NH) and Di Kirkwood (Bedford Corners, NY) all picked up wins for the Jeffs on Saturday. Shannon handily downed Colby sophomore Stacy Petro (Philadelphia, PA), 9-7, 10-8, 9-6, at the No. 1 spot, while Coape-Arnold, Mantica, Harper and Kirkwood all needed four games for their wins over the Mules.

Amherst returns to action Saturday, February 4 at the Little Three Championships hosted by Wesleyan University.
