Jeffs Squads Fall to National Powerhouse Trinity CollegeDecember 5 , 2006 HARTFORD, CT – The Amherst College men’s and women’s squash teams traveled to Trinity College and found out first-hand why the Bantams rank among the best teams in the nation. Not a member of either Amherst team managed to win a game against their respective opponent, as both the men’s and women’s teams fell 9-0. Trinity’s men’s team is ranked first nationally and features three of the top five players in the country according to the College Squash Association (CSA), while the women’s team is ranked third overall. Although the Amherst’s men’s and women’s teams are ranked 10th and 19th nationally, the Lord Jeffs were simply outmatched throughout the night. Despite having lost consecutive matches to teams ranked nationally in the top 15, the Lord Jeffs can certainly benefit from playing against such stern competition. Both Amherst squads return to action this Thursday, when they take on Tufts University in a home match-up at 6:30 p.m. The Tufts’ men’s team is ranked 15th in the nation, while the women’s team sits at 23rd.
