AMHERST, MA – CollegeSwimming.com announced this week’s recipients of National Collegiate Swimmer of the Week honors, with a male and female from each of Divisions I, II and III receiving the honor. Amherst College junior Brittany Sasser (Belmont, MA) represents the Division III females this week after her stellar performance at the NESCAC Championships this past weekend.

Sasser was featured in one of the most exciting events of the first day of the NESCAC Championships, the 400-yard medley relay, in which the Amherst squad finished with a time of three minutes and 52.94 seconds, good enough for a NESCAC title. In the same day, Sasser swam the top time in the 200 Individual Medley (2:05.87) to claim her second title of the meet.

On the second day, Sasser swam to a NESCAC Championship meet record time in the 100-yard backstroke (55.61) and was part of the victorious 200 Medley Relay (1:47.89). On the final day, Sasser set a new meet, conference and pool record in the 200-yard backstroke (1:58.79) to win the event. She was named Swimmer of the Meet for her outstanding performances, earning All-NESCAC honors in seven events and leading the Lord Jeffs to a second-place overall finish.
