Amherst Assosciation of Students

The Amherst College Honor Code was first implemented in 2004 by vote of the student body and the faculty. One of its provisions is that it be re-voted every four years - once during every student's time at the College - by both the student body and the faculty. The College Council has voted to submit the Honor Code, without changes, to the student body for renewal. The full text of the Honor Code is available on pages 23 to 35 of the Student Handbook.

Do you vote to renew the Amherst College Honor Code for another four years, until September 2012?: 516 voters

In accordance with the Bylaws of the Association of Amherst Students, Article V, Section F:

"Any discretionary request for a single event of $10,000 or more that has been previously approved by the Senate shall go to a school wide referendum within seven (7) days of Senate approval. An affirmative vote by a simple majority of voters is required to finalize the allocation. If no such majority is garnered, no funding shall be allocated."

The Senate has approved the recommendation of the Budgetary Committee to allocate $30,000 towards the funding of the Spring Concert organized by the Programming Board. The artist of the Spring Concert is scheduled to be Third Eye Blind.

The Senate has also approved the recommendation of the Budgetary Committee to allocate $16,000 towards the funding of the Spring Formal, to be held on Friday, April 25, 2008 from 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM in Valentine Quad.
