The Outing Club has a large amount of outdoor equipment for students to use. In order to check out the gear, you have to be an Amherst student (or a five-college student with prior arrangements). There is a small fee for gear rentals, payable by cash or check, and a refundable deposit is required for most equipment. The rental fee is waived for ACOC members.
The Outing Club is an enthusiastic supporter of Adventure Outfitters (formerly Wildwater Outfitters), the local outdoor equipment store. We encourage all students to support this business.
