The Amherst College ID Card may be used for: New this Fall!! Dorm Access
- Access to all dorms
- Food Service—a meal plan card
- Access to AC DOLLAR$ account
- Issue of athletic tickets and access to athletic events
- Issue of athletic equipment and access to athletic facilities
- Health Services - Pay for services and prescriptions
- Library Services (checkout of materials and pay fines)
- Campus Police - for security purposes and pay fines
- To enter Campus Center events
- Purchase student discounted tickets in advance

- Issuing of room keys from the College lock shop
- Student Voting

- Protect your card from physical abuse.
- Carry your card in a protective cover such as the ID card holder provided.
- Do not use your card as a tool or punch holes in it.
- Under no circumstances are you to give your card to someone else to use. Fines are at least $25.00.
- Do not try to alter the card. A fine may apply.
- Do not place cards near or on magnetic fields such as stereos, microwaves
and credit cards.
- Avoid running your card through a washer or dryer.

- What if I lose my photo ID card?
Lost photo ID cards should be reported to the Dining Services during regular
operating hours. The Dining Services Office will change the computer code
for the lost or missing card to prevent someone else from using your card
until you find it or receive a new one.
- Do I need a new card each semester?
No. Your photo ID card is valid for a four year period. It is updated each
semester after your fees are paid. Cards are deactivated for the summer.
- Can I lend my card to a friend?
No. Remember that you are responsible for your Amherst College photo
ID card. It is assumed that the person using the card is the owner.
Any unauthorized use of the card is deemed fraud and could result in
a fine.
- Need to replace your Amherst College ID Card?
Replacement cards cost $20 (non-refundable). There is no charge for
a name or college access number change. All name and access number changes
must be made through the Registrar's Office before a new ID card will
be issued.
- Your Amherst College Photo ID Card
The Amherst College photo ID is issued to all students for obtaining
various services. Misuse could result in forfeiture. Amherst College
photo ID cards are only valid when fees have been paid. Your Amherst
College photo ID card must be presented to a college official upon request.
