Pre-Registering for Amherst Courses for the Semester
After Return
Pre-registration is generally held mid-November and
mid-April. The Registrar's Office will send
you an email with information on registering for classes. Although
pre-registration is not required, you should consider
doing so if you have departmental requirements to
complete or are interested in taking a particular
class. A student returning from study abroad
may be permitted to enroll in “closed” courses without
prior registration. Experience shows that students
returning from study abroad have had little or no
difficulty entering the courses they want. (A
very small or popular seminar may be an exception,
but there is no guarantee that staying at Amherst
would increase your chances of getting into the course).
You may email your course selection to the Registrar. You
will have until the
end of the Add-Drop
Period to formally
register for classes. Course
offerings and other
information can be
found at the registrar's
website.
Last, be sure to complete the Study
Abroad Evaluation--you must complete
and return to
the Career Center
before you can
register. |
