Amherst College
Fellowships
Amherst College Fellowships
Amherst College Fellowships are for graduating seniors and
alumni/ae. They are described in the Amherst College Catalog.
The deadline for application is February 10. You need not have been accepted at graduate school
to apply, but the awards are made contingent upon final enrollment.
You may apply for
funds for a second and third year and you may apply after graduation if
you decide to postpone graduate school. Amherst College Fellowships are awarded on the
basis of merit and need.
There is one application for the different fellowships. Funds are available for the study of law, medicine, economics, education and all of the traditional
academic disciplines. The areas of graduate study for which larger fellowships
are available are chemistry, geology, history, religion, philosophy, and study
in the United Kingdom. Those available for apprenticeship or private tutoring
as well as study at a graduate school are in the fields of music and theater.
