Educational Foundation
Offers a variety of funding opportunities for women. Programs include fellowships
or grants for doctoral work & research, career development, community action,
teaching in public schools, international students and for study in specific
degree programs where women's participation has traditionally been low.

* The Steppingstone Foundation Teaching Fellowship
Steppingstone prepares inner-city sixth-graders to get into, and succeed at,
Boston and Philadelphia's top independent schools. The Scholars Program receives
more than 300 nominations for the 40 slots available each year. The academic
component of the program is an intensive, 14-month schedule of classes during
the school year, two summer sessions, and application workshops. The Teaching
Fellowship is a one-year program which provides practical experience in curriculum
development, teaching, educational leadership, and direct experience in urban

Madison Fellowships
This fellowship provides up to $24,000 for graduate study that focuses on the
Constitution–its history and contemporary relevance to the practices and policies
of democratic government. Junior Fellowships are awarded to students who are
about to complete, or have recently completed, their undergraduate course of
study and plan to begin graduate work on a full-time basis. Fellows must make
a commitment to teach after graduate school. Senior Fellowships are awarded
to experienced teachers who wish to undertake work for a graduate degree on
a part-time basis through summer and evening classes.

NSF Graduate Teaching Fellows Program at Duke
The NSF Graduate Teaching Fellows Program at Duke, funded by the National Science
Foundation (NSF), is a collaborative program between Duke University Marine
Laboratory and educators and administrators of Carteret County public schools
and is designed to provide Duke NSF Graduate Teaching Fellows the opportunity
to combine K-12 teaching experiences with research in the thematic area of
Life in Variable and Polluted Marine and Coastal Environments.

Athens College Teaching Fellowship
Fellows undertake a wide variety of experiences at the school which broaden
their experience of educational institutions and of Greece. Applicants should
have an interest in teaching a variety of age-levels; prior experience is helpful
but not required. Interested applicants are asked to send a letter of interest,
a copy of their curriculum vitae, a transcript of college grades, and two letters

NYC Teaching Fellows Program
A two-year commitment to work in a New York City public school. Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree, Minimum GPA of 3.0, US citizen or permanent resident with
a valid green card, English fluency, no current or expired eligibility for
teacher certification in New York, cannot have worked as a full-time, uncertified
teacher (PPT) in NYC at any time since September 2000, cannot have completed
a teacher education program. Fellows receive the same salary and benefits as
othe New York City teachers. During training, Fellows receive a stipend of
approximately $3,000.
