Writing Fiction II - Catherine Newman

Writing Fiction II (English 28) is an advanced workshop in fiction writing taught by visiting writer Catherine Newman. Prerequisite: one other creative writing course.

Preference will be given to interested students who submit a writing sample of 5-10 pages, preferably fiction, by noon on January 23rd. Please bring your samples to the Creative Writing Center, 212 Webster, or mail them to Amherst College Box 2235. Professor Newman will post a list of admitted students, on-line and outside of the Creative Writing Center, by the first day of class.

Please put your name on every page of your writing sample. Your contact information (school, year, phone, e-mail) should go on the first page. A cover note listing your previous creative writing course(s) and describing your writing experience would be a good idea. Please note whether you are applying for Fiction I or Fiction II.
