Off-CAMPUS THREE-DAY TRIPS

FIRST-YEAR ORIENTATION OUTING TRIPS (F.O.O.T.) - Sponsored by the Amherst College Outing Club. The Outing trips offer new students an outdoor canoeing or hiking adventure, and a great opportunity to become acquainted with a small group of classmates. Students will be grouped by experience and led by trained upperclass students.

The COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT ORIENTATION TRIP (C.E.O.T.) provides students with the opportunity to take the first steps toward building relationships with non-profit organizations, community organizers and activists, and educators in the Pioneer Valley. Students will be involved in projects based at local nonprofit organizations that serve local communities in a variety of capacities and on a variety of social issues. In addition, community members and student leaders will facilitate interactive discussions, workshops, and panels on a variety of subjects such as: equality in education, youth empowerment, and the cycle of poverty. Sponsored by the Community Outreach Program.
