STUDENTS ON LEAVE THIS SEMESTER

If you are on leave for the Spring '08 semester only, you should enter Room Draw by designating a proxy.  You will need to submit an online Housing Intentions Form by March 15th.

STUDENTS PLANNING TO STUDY ABROAD NEXT YEAR

  1. If you have been confirmed by the Career Center that you have been accepted into your fall 2008 study abroad program, you are not eligible for this year's Room Draw.
  2. If you are going abroad for the fall 2008 and your acceptance into the program has not been confirmed by the Room Draw application deadline, you should enter Room Draw.
  3. If you have not heard from your program before the night of Room Draw, SHAC suggests you enter an application solo, and/or with other students who have the same LUV value; however, if you are confirmed to go away within hours of choosing a room, you will be withdrawn from Room Draw.
  4. If you have not heard by the time you are to choose a room, you can also elect to opt-out.
  5. Once you accept your study abroad program, you will be taken out of housing.  If you change your mind about going abroad after confirming your study abroad program, you will be placed on a waitlist and housed after everyone who has been guaranteed housing has been placed.  Students invited to live in suites cannot be asked to leave to accommodate a student returning in January.

PROXY INFORMATION

As a proxy, you are responsible for doing the following:

If the student for whom you are a proxy has applied to a Theme House for next year, you are responsible for checking in the Residential Life Office to see if he/she has been accepted into that Theme House.

If your room group includes someone who is currently away from campus, and nobody in your group is their designated proxy, please contact their proxy before submitting your group’s application.  Check with the Residential Life Office to find out who their proxy is.
