Ben Lieber, Dean of Students, has responsibility for the overall programs and policies of the office, as well as for the personal and academic counseling of the Class of 2010. He should be consulted on all matters of general college policy involving students. He is also available to provide general and academic counseling for all students. Professor Allen Hart , Dean of New Students, teaches Psychology. He has special responsibilities for first-year and other new students. He may be consulted on matters relating to the general and academic counseling of freshman students, College regulations and requirements, the Orientation Program, and the First-Year Seminar courses. Charri Boykin-East, Senior Associate Dean of Students, has responsibility for the personal and academic counseling of the Class of 2009. She is Coordinator of Services for Academic Support, with special responsibilities for The Peer Tutoring Program and students with disabilities. She may be consulted on matters related to College regulations and requirements. Dean Boykin-East is a member of the Committee on Academic Standing, the Orientation Committee, and the Prize Committee. Frances Tuleja, Associate Dean of Students, provides academic and general counseling to the members of the Class of 2008. She is the advisor to international students and she serves as the dean who administers the Code of Conduct. In addition, she is the College's Twelve-College Exchange coordinator, and the dean in charge of readmission for students who have been on leave. Torin Moore , Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Residential Life, is responsible for all aspects of the College’s student housing program, including area coordinators, resident counselors, residential programming, housing assignments, and room draw. He assists married, single parent, and transfer students in their adjustment to the College. Rosalind A. Hoffa, Associate Dean of Students and Director of the Career Center, is responsible for the overall operation of the office, its services and programs. Rebecca Lee, Associate Dean of Students and Internship Coordinator, serves as a career counselor and coordinates internships and not-for-profit careers. Janna Behrens, Assistant Dean of Students and Director of International Experience, serves as the college's study abroad advisor. Samuel Haynes, Associate Dean of Students and Director of Student Activities and of the Campus Center, is responsible for the operation of the Campus Center. His other duties include advising student activities and organizing Interterm. He also serves as advisor to the Student Government Organization, WAMH, and the Amherst College Program Board and to the various committees that constitute the student government. Susan Snively, Associate Dean of Students and Director of the Writing Center. Denise McGoldrick, Director of Health Education supervises the College’s health education programs. She is responsible for organizing and presenting programs on such issues as alcohol and other drugs, sexuality, including contraception, AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections, and nutrition and eating disorders. Gretchen Krull, Assistant Director of Health Education, provides training and programming in the areas of sexual harassment and assault. She is a Certified Rape Crisis Counselor and counsels victim/survivors. She supervises the Peer Advocates of Sexual Respect, a student organization which provides advocacy services on call 24 hours/7 days a week.
