Specific Plans
Amherst College currently has 86 pre-planned emergency response scenarios which have been separated into 7 special categories. These 7 categories are then divided up into specific types of emergencies from which flow charts have been created and are maintained. These plans, policies and procedures which include the charts are located at the Amherst College Campus Police Dispatch Center. The flow charts and other applicable documentation contain the names and telephone numbers (office, personal and cell phone) of each Amherst College employee (faculty and staff) that may be asked to respond to an emergency incident. For that reason, the specific plans are not available on-line. However, any Amherst College employee, student or community resident, as defined in the Amherst College Community Right-to-Know Policy that wishes to view the plans and flow charts can request to see them at the Amherst College Campus Police Department, which is located at the Physical Plant, 6 East Drive. The flow charts, plans and policies can not be removed from site, but comments, concerns and questions can be directed to the Campus Police Department or Environmental Health and Safety during normal business hours, except in cases of emergency.
