Aid for International Students

Amherst College is not "need blind" in evaluating international students. In considering you for admission, Amherst does take into account whether or not you have applied for financial aid. If claims of permanent residence or US citizenship are determined to be false, financial aid at Amherst is subject to revocation.

The College has a comprehensive program of financial aid that provides assistance in the form of scholarships and grants, loans, and student employment.  However, a very limited number of financial aid awards are available each year to international students.
