New Students

A warm and nice welcome from the ISA to the Class of 2009. You're going to be treated like this cute little kitten. We have a lot planned for you. Check out the Class of 2009 page.

About the ISA

We are a group of diverse individuals from all over the globe. That's not all. We're also a recognized organisation on the Amherst campus. And yes, we do have a constitution. In our weekly meetings we hold important discussions on events we plan to organize over the year. These range from small study breaks to huge dinners and fashion shows. Yeah, we do BIG things.

From all over the world, a wonderful mix of ideas and cultures come together in one room. And when the charges ignite, the explosion is felt campus-wide. Who are we? WE ARE THE ISA!

The ISA Newsletter We are working on a newsletter targetted mainly at prospective and new students. The newsletter will feature stories from our current members, their experiences at college, and various other topics pertinent to international students.

ISA Summer Camp This summer we were located in Seligman, mainly on the second floor. Some of our fun events were watching movies, making smoothies, roller-blading, and yes, biking in the woods at midnight with no lights, hiking, and telling ghost stories on rooftops.

Would you like to write for the ISA? The ISA website is not complete without input from our cherished members. Please send your stories to our account at isa@amherst.edu. Thanks for your input.

Advertise on the ISA website Got something to show the world? Tell us and we'll put it up.

ISA pickups Thanks to a number of dedicated members, we have a team of drivers to do ISA pickups this year. The pickups are on August 25 so please be back on campus by August 24. You can move into your rooms on August 23.

Language concerns There has been some discussion about the use of American terms when referring to global topics. For example, using soccer instead of football, dropping the 'u' in our favourite words, etc. Drop us a line about this in the isa account.
