|
| |
This plaque stood at the entrance to the Woods Cabinet, one of the College's natural history museums, in the building now known as the Octagon. Woods Cabinet, which was named after Josiah Woods of Enfield, Conn., who helped President Edward Hitchcock raise funds to build the museum, opened in 1848 for the display of geological specimens.
