- Public hours are 8:30-4:30, Monday through Friday when classes are in session.
- Public hours are 9-Noon Monday through Friday during breaks & vacations.
- The collection is closed evenings, weekends & holidays.

Collections
There are approximately 185,000 slides in the collection. The images range from European painting to the material culture of American homes to Igbo statues to Cheyenne saddlebags. We have a large selection of Asian and Islamic arts.
Slides are available to Amherst College faculty, staff, & students for classroom presentations. See Image Databases below. Please contact us for policies & further information.

Image Databases
ArtSTOR An image database collectively compiled by educational and cultural institutions around the world. The so-called Charter Collection, which currently contains approximately 300,000 images and by 2006 is expected to contain 500,000, documents artistic traditions across many times and cultures and embraces architecture, painting, sculpture, photography, decorative arts, and design as well as many other forms of visual culture.
