Library Request Forms

Inter-Library Loan (available to AC students, staff and faculty)
Use this form to request books not available in the Five College libraries. (Note: Check the Five College Catalog to see if it is available in another Five College Library; if so, you may request it through Five College Direct Borrowing (FCD)).

Use this form to request journal articles not available in the Amherst College Library (whether in other Five College libraries or elsewhere).

Amherst College Depository
Five College borrowers may request books directly through the library catalog. Use this form to request journals from the Library Depository (off-site storage). Community borrowers request both books and journals here. Questions? Call Reference at 542-2319 or email us.

Five College Library Depository
Five College borrowers can usually request a book in the FCLD through the online catalog request. For community borrowers, or if FC people get a "No requestable items" message, you can use the FCLD Book Request. If you need an article in a journal in the FCLD, use the FCLD Article Request

Purchase
Use this form to request additions to the Library's collections in any format (books, journals, videos, maps, compact discs, etc.)

Reserve List
Faculty – use this form to request course materials be placed on reserve in the library.

Research Appointment
Ask for an individual appointment with a reference librarian to discuss library resources for your research projects.

Video
Request videos from the Five Colleges collections. (Non-Amherst people should submit requests through their home libraries.)

Questions & Comments
Ask questions, send comments to Reference.

Missing/Search
Use this form to have Library staff search for items you are unable to find on the shelf.
