Catalogs

Find books and journal titles in the Four College Library Catalog (for Amherst, Hampshire, Mt. Holyoke and Smith) from the Library's homepage; there is a separate UMass Catalog. You can search in the library catalogs by AUTHOR, by SUBJECT, by TITLE (or JOURNAL TITLE), or by KEYWORD. The SUBJECT choice requires the exact word or phrase chosen by libraries to define your topic. Try starting with KEYWORD and looking at the subjects assigned to items you retrieve.

PsycINFO (1887–present)
Index covering the professional and academic literature in psychology and related disciplines including medicine, psychiatry, nursing, sociology, education, pharmacology, physiology, linguistics, and other areas.

Academic Search Premier
Fulltext articles from over 3,600 journals in the social sciences, arts and humanities, and sciences. Also includes about 1,000 titles that are indexed but not fulltext. Dates of journals vary, some go back to the 1920's, others are current issues only.

Expanded Academic ASAP (1980 - present)
An index to articles from a wide variety of academic journals. It lists articles from psychology, sociology, and many other disciplines. Many references include the complete text of the articles.
