Indexes and Databases: Finding Articles and More

Sometimes research requires just a bit of information about a person, place, historic event, or concept. Online reference tools, such as encyclopedias and handbooks, can be very useful for the quick look-up.

Other times you may need to find a book review, newspaper, goverment document, statistic, archival/primary source or a book from outside the Five Colleges via WorldCat.

If you need just a few articles, Academic Search Premier and Academic OneFile are good places to start. But sometimes you need to dig deeper. The databases listed below index scholarly resources (articles, books, dissertations) in a wide variey of subject areas.
