Gaming

If you like to game, this is the place to be. There will be a wide variety of games to play, and demonstration runs of some you perhaps haven't tried out yet. Bring your own games or play what we've got!

In the lobby will be a few gaming tables and a bunch of games where anyone who feels like it can sit down and play. There will also be scheduled table-top gaming sessions (RPGs, large board games, etc.) that will happen in the gaming rooms. If you're interested in running a game (either with a commercial system [e.g. D&D, BESM] or your own) contact us and we'll arrange a time.

Here are the currently scheduled games:

Magic: the Gathering
There will be a Champions booster draft, hosted by Phoenix Games. $9 to play, free to watch. The draft begins at 8pm on Saturday.

Shadowrun
An introductory scenario geared for those who have never played Shadowrun before or would like to revisit an old favorite. In a cyberpunk worls where magic, trolls, and elves have returned, four rookie "shadowrunner" operatives are hired by a mysterious corporate sponsor to steal a competitor's new research development before it can make it to the market. Gather intel, plan your run, try to make it out before the Tactical Police teams show up to fry you to the pavement, then collect your well-earned paycheck. Currently scheduled for 9pm on Friday.

Vampire: the Masquerade
Boston, MA, September 2002: Everything you know about life is a lie. And so is everything you know about death. A few days ago, you thought you were on top of the world -- and the food chain. Then again, a few days ago, you were alive. An introduction to a Vampire: the Masquerade chronicle of horror and action. Open to players of all ability levels, including those who have never before played. Currently scheduled for 8:30pm on Friday

Deadlands
Deadlands: The Weird West is a pencil and paper RPG set in an alternate history version of the Wild West where the Civil War has been going on for fifteen years and malignant supernatural forces lurk in the darkness, waiting to snuff out humanity. The players take on the roles of (often ragtag and questionable) heroes who are the only defense the inhabitants of the "Weird West" have against bandits, ruthless barons of the railroads, and more horrible threats. Perhaps the best concise description of the game is that it's what would happen if H.P. Lovecraft wrote the script for a western starring Clint Eastwood. This one-shot is being run with pregenerated characters and a self-contained scenario that should serve as an introduction to the world of Deadlands. It is my experience that most people who play Deadlands enjoy it, and can almost guarantee that a good time will be had by all. Two sessions are scheduled, one at 4pm on Saturday, and one at 11am on Sunday.
