Amherst junior forward Rob MacDonald scored with 13 seconds remaining in regulation to lift Amherst into a 5-5 tie with Connecticut College in New London, CT tonight. Amherst had leads of 1-0, 3-2, and 4-3 but defensive mistakes cost us the lead each time. MacDonald led the offensive effort with two goals and two assists, while senior tri-captain Mike Noone had a goal and two assists. Also scoring for Amherst were freshman forward Gregg Dinardo and junior forward Charlie Blyth. Amherst (6-3-1) will travel to Worcester to face Holy Cross tomorrow night, while Conn hosts Mass College.
