AMHERST, Massachusetts -- The rookie line of Robbie Hill (Averill Park, NY), Chris Orszulak (Longmeadow, MA) and Gregg DiNardo (North Reading, MA) teamed up for three goals as Amherst defeated American International College, 8-4, at Orr Rink. This is the second time these ECAC East rivals have met this season, and Amherst has claimed wins in both contests.
The Jeffs used a five minute offensive to take a 3-0 lead early in the second period before Yellow Jacket Todd Bassler (Brattleboro, VT) tallied his first of two goals. AIC notched two more scores in the second to trail only 5-3 at the second intermission. Amherst scored three more times in the closing period before Peter Szymanski (New York, NY) closed out the game with a power play goal with a 5-to-3 man AIC advantage.
Yellow Jacket goalie Chance Thede (Westminster, CO) made 45 saves for AIC.
Amherst improves to 8-6-1, 6-4-1 ECAC East and will travel to Colby for a 7:00pm meeting on Friday. AIC falls to 5-10-1, 3-7-1 ECAC East as the Yellow Jackets prepare to host UMass-Boston on Friday.
