Jeffs End Regular Season with 15-10 Win Over ColbyFrom a Colby College Release April 28, 2007 WATERVILLE, ME – Amherst College exploded for eight goals in the second quarter on the way to a 15-10 win over Colby College in New England Small College Athletic Conference men’s lacrosse Saturday at Bill Alfond Field. While Colby ends its season at 3-10 and 1-8 in the league, Amherst (7-7, 5-4 NESCAC) earned the The Lord Jeffs led 4-2 after the first quarter and Colby scored the opening goal of the second period to cut the margin to 4-3. However, Amherst went on an 8-0 scoring run to end the half and take a 12-3 margin into the break. Tom Gianakos and Tim Patch split time in net for Colby and combined for six saves. When Amherst and Williams met in the regular season, the Jeffs edged out the Ephs in an overtime thriller in Williamstown, MA, 10-9. |
