SAAC Ideas, Initiatives and Thoughts
At the risk of placing limits on some possibilities, there are many ways in which the SAAC can serve both our athletes, and our campus, and include many of the following ideas:
►To help foster a positive relationship between the athletic and academic communities
►To promote efficient communication between the Amherst College Athletic Department and the student-athlete population
►To promote athletics as a valuable part of the college experience, and to help create a positive image of student-athletes and athletics on our campus
►To design and implement programs which will encourage community relations, school spirit, and sportsmanship
►To encourage involvement of student-athletes in campus and community service projects
►To disseminate information to student-athletes
►To solicit student-athlete responses to proposed NESCAC and NCAA legislation
►To boost attendance and excitement at Amherst Athletic events
