SAAC Objectives: While at Northeastern, I was a member of the NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and got to work closely with 28 other student-athletes from across the country on initiatives and proposals that would enhance the welfare of the student-athlete. I spoke on the voting floor of the NCAA Annual Meeting to athletic directors and presidents on several legislative items that impacted - for better or worse - the lives of the student-athletes that we represented. One of the last items that I spoke on was the importance of implementation of campus wide SAAC's, so that the student-athletes at their respective schools would have a voice on campus. It is great to be a part of the implementation of this committee here at Amherst, and my hope is to be able to provide valuable guidance and experience to assist the incredibly dedicated student-athletes that we have on this campus, enhance their college experiences by providing a recognized group that can serve as a valuable outlet for communication and idea sharing.
