2008 Reunion Run

On Saturday May 31st, held in conjunction with the Amherst College Reunion Weekend, we had the first annual - and soon to be regular - XC & TF Reunion Run. The 5k race / run was run on our XC course, and for most of the people present it was there first glimpse of this course as we started running on it in the fall of 1999. We had a tremendous turnout with 71 finishers and even more people in attendance to cheer the runners on! Kip Gallant '93 and Helen Dole'04 captured the individual honors while the Class of 83 won the battle of the "83 verse 88". Using their scoring system - rewarding the classes for participation and time bonuses - the 83's won with 183 points to the 88 total of 117. Starting with next year's running of the race, we will implement a scoring system that will account for both participation, time bonus, and a modest class handicap and then score it out with the even's verse the odds - 4's verse 9's - and award the trophy to the respective winners.
