Dear Fellow '5ler:

I'm sorry to inform you that classmate Clark King died on March 6 after a brief illness. At Amherst Clark was a Deke, and I remember him as a warm, friendly, and highly intelligent fellow, of whom I was very fond. Our senior year, he was Business Manager of the Olio, our excellent yearbook.

Clark graduated from Harvard Law School and then served three years in Army Intelligence. Thereafter, he practiced law with the Chicago-based firm of Lord, Bissell & Brook, engaging primarily in trial work.

He was involved in numerous civic activities and his church and was a founder of the Boy Scout troop of which his sons were members. He also was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Clark is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joyce, four children (including Clark, III '78), a sister, and four grandchildren, one of whom, Stephanie King '10, represents the sixth generation of Kings at Amherst. We send our deep condolences to Joyce and her family. If you would like to send her a note, her address is 2517 Partridge Lane, Northbrook, IL 60062.

Warm regards,
David C. Fulton
