Caiparinha Recipe

If you want to try cachaça for yourself, here is a classic recipe:

Caiparinha

2 small limes cut into eighths

2 teaspoons superfine sugar

2 ounces cachaça

Place the lime sections in a wide-mouthed glass or a bowl (often a blunt, wooden stick is used, but a wooden spoon will suffice), sprinkle with sugar, and muddle until the sugar dissolves. Place in a rocks glass and add ice. Top with the cachaça and add a stirring stick. The beauty of this drink is that the drinker will keep muddling with the stirrer, releasing more and more flavor as he or she drinks. –A.D.B.
