Fifth Annual Seminar Exploring Buddhism: "The Three Principles of the Path: Renunciation, Altruistic Mind & Wisdom"
October 27, 2012 - 11:00 am to 1:00 pm (already occurred)
Khen Rinpoche, Geshe Lobzang Tsetan (Abbot of the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery in South India), and Professor David L. Gardiner of the Department of Religion at Colorado College will introduce the first principle, "Renunciation." The core meaning for lay practitioners is not about renouncing family and jobs, as a monastic might, but rather about consciously turning the mind away from its habitual concerns with wealth, comfort and fame and away from the anxiety patterns caused by such interests.
Charles Pratt Hall, O'Connor Commons
This event is part of a weekend-long workshop. It is open to the public, with a suggested donation of $20/session from members of the general public and $10/session from senior citizens.
