Amherst College Vespers
A Festival of Lessons and Carols
The annual Amherst College Christmas Vespers will be held on Sunday, Dec. 2, at 4 and 7:30 p.m. in Johnson Chapel. The Festival of Lessons and Carols is free (no tickets are required). Mallorie Chernin will direct the Amherst College Choral Society, assisted by Jeremy Koo '12. They will be joined by the Amherst College Madrigal Singers, directed by Lester Hu '13 and Angelina Gomez '14. Other musicians include the Amherst College Flute Choir, organist James Maes and trumpeters Douglas Purcell and Mark Santolucito '13. The congregation will be asked to join in the singing of traditional carols and the "Hallelujah Chorus" from "The Messiah." The lessons for this traditional Festival of Lessons and Carols will be read by faculty, staff, students and the children of faculty and staff.
We encourage people to bring nonperishable food items or a financial donation for the Survival Center or Food Bank. (Checks should be made out to Amherst Survival Center or Food Bank of Western Massachusetts.)
