Amherst and Smith College Music Faculty Members to Perform Concert of French and Hungarian Music June 27

AMHERST, Mass. – The Amherst College Department of Music will present Debussy and Ravel: Bartók’s Favorites, a concert of chamber music highlighting members of the faculty at Amherst and Smith colleges, on Saturday, June 27, at 8 p.m. in the Buckley Recital Hall of Amherst’s Arms Music Center. The concert is free and open to the public.
Featured performers will include Smith’s Joel Pitchon and Volcy Pelletier on the violin and cello, respectively, and Amherst’s David Schneider and Alissa Leiser on the clarinet and piano, respectively. They will play Maurice Ravel’s Trio for Violin, Cello and Piano; Claude Debussy’s Sonata for Violin and Piano; and Béla Bartók’s Contrasts for clarinet, violin and piano.
