Offices & Committees
Title IX Team
The Title IX Team consists of the Title IX Coordinator, Deputy Title IX Coordinators, the Dean of Stuidents, the Dean of Student Conduct, the Chief of Amherst College Police, the Chief Policy Officer and General Counsel, the Dean of Faculty, the Director of Human Resources and others as may be necessary. It is charged with advising the President on matters relating to the College’s compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. These deal with nondiscrimination on the basis of sex in education programs and activities.
Sexual Respect Task Force
The Sexual Respect Task Force is made up of faculty, staff and students who are committed to a community that promotes respectful interactions, mutual support, genuine acceptance, safety and fairness.
Special Oversight Committee on Sexual Misconduct
The Special Oversight Committee on Sexual Misconduct (SMOC)—composed of trustees, faculty, students, staff and counsel—worked to enhance the campus environment through educational initiatives.
