Environmental Leadership

Amherst College recently received a grant from the Henry David Thoreau Foundation to support the development of Environmental Leadership in the 21st Century, a project initiated by Amherst College's Environmental Studies program and the Center for Community Engagement.  The goals of this initiative are to train undergraduate students and staff in the Five College Consortium  to be dynamic and effective environmental leaders, to improve the articulation between the academic and co-curricular environmental programs on the five campuses, and to strengthen partnerships among the colleges, their students, and local and national environmental organizations.

The program will feature a two week interterm course designed to provide students with the theoretical knowledge and skills they will need to be effective problem solvers and leaders. You can find out more about the interterm course here.
