Amherst College’s Center for Humanistic Inquiry is one of 11 founding members of the New England Humanities Consortium, which aims to illuminate and expand the critical importance of the humanities in higher education and public life through intellectual collaboration, interdisciplinary exchange and innovative educational programming.

The National Humanities Alliance (NHA) is a coalition of organizations dedicated to advancing humanities education, research, preservation, and public programs throughout the United States. The CHI supports the NHA through its membership, by engaging in the national discourse on humanities and by advocating to Congress for support of humanities initiatives.
